Are you doing all you can to market your online store? AuctionBytes conducted a survey to learn more about multi-channel selling behavior and found that 58 percent of respondents included marketing inserts with orders to customers, and 32 percent of respondents regularly send emails to past buyers. Assuming you provide good products and good service, your past customers already have established trust with you. Reminding them to buy from you again makes good business sense - customer retention is easier and cheaper than finding brand new customers.
Another takeaway from the survey is that merchants have different pricing strategies on the different venues on which they sell. Sellers are more likely to sell items at a higher price on Amazon and eBay, and at a lower price on their own website, online storefront or offline venue.
The survey results were published online in this AuctionBytes Newsflash article, and you can hear a discussion of the results and other ecommerce trends on StartupNation's Tips for Entrepreneurs podcast.
